Shauna Claire O'Callaghan
Nervous System Regulation Practitioner | Resilience & Life Coach
Resilience begins within.
Nervous System Regulation, Resilience Coaching & Sustainable Performance.
A considered approach to managing stress, building resilience and pursuing meaningful ambition without compromising your wellbeing.
In person in Pimlico, Central London, and online.
My philosophy
A different approach to thriving.
Success should not require sacrificing your wellbeing.
So many of us have learnt to meet pressure by pushing harder: longer hours, higher standards, less rest. It can work, for a while. But when the body is operating in a near-constant state of stress, clear thinking, good decisions and genuine enjoyment of our work become harder to reach.
My work begins with the nervous system: understanding how you personally respond to stress, and learning practical ways to return to a steadier state. From that foundation, we build resilience and the confidence to meet challenges with more choice. We also work towards a way of achieving that you can sustain.
Resilience, as I understand it, is not about enduring ever more difficult circumstances. It is the capacity to respond rather than react, to recognise what you need, to set boundaries that hold, and to make conscious choices about how you live and work. The aim is to move beyond simply coping, towards living and performing sustainably.
My approach
Three interconnected areas of practice.
Each builds on the last.
I.
REGULATE
Nervous System Regulation
Understanding your stress responses, and the practical tools to work with them.
Together, we explore how your nervous system responds to pressure, and how to recognise your own patterns early. You'll learn grounding, breath-based and other regulation practices, and build simple routines that fit into a real working day.
II.
REBUILD
Resilience & Mindset Coaching
A steadier, kinder relationship with yourself, and greater confidence in your ability to respond.
This work is practical rather than motivational. We look at the habits of thought and behaviour that shape how you meet challenges, from perfectionism and self-talk to boundaries and change, and develop approaches that genuinely support you.
III.
REDEFINE
Sustainable Productivity & Performance
Achievement that doesn't depend on doing more.
Greater productivity need not always mean working harder. This pillar is for people with real ambition who find the demands they place on themselves difficult to sustain. Together, we create realistic structures for your time, priorities and energy, with rest treated as part of performance, not a reward for it.
Who I work with
For those who aspire to more, without sacrificing themselves.
I work with adults of all genders who want to meet demanding lives with greater steadiness and intention.
I have a particular interest in supporting ambitious, high-achieving women: those building careers and businesses while carrying a great deal elsewhere, and who sense that the way they have been achieving is not the way they want to continue. I am especially interested in the relationship between ambition, identity and self-worth, and in what it takes to perform well over the long term.
You may be:
- An entrepreneur or business owner carrying the weight of every decision
- A corporate professional in a high-pressure role
- A creative professional or performer
- Balancing a demanding career with significant personal responsibilities
- Navigating perfectionism or performance pressure
- Experiencing everyday stress and overwhelm
- Finding it difficult to establish or hold boundaries
- Seeking a healthier relationship with productivity
- Moving through a significant personal or professional transition
Meet Shauna
An unusual perspective on pressure and performance.
I'm Shauna Claire O'Callaghan, an Irish professional opera singer, educator, entrepreneur and certified Nervous System Regulation Practitioner, based in Pimlico, Central London.
My work sits at the intersection of nervous system regulation, emotional resilience and sustainable performance. I combine practitioner training in nervous system regulation with evidence-informed coaching approaches and practical, everyday strategies.
Performance
As a professional opera singer, currently completing advanced postgraduate vocal performance training at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, I know demanding performance environments from the inside: the preparation, the psychological pressure, and the balance between technical excellence and personal wellbeing.
Education
Teaching has been central to my working life. I have supported students of all ages in building confidence, navigating setbacks and working towards ambitious goals, and have received three Excellence in Teaching Awards from the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
Entrepreneurship
Building several professional projects of my own has taught me what it means to manage competing priorities, protect focus and create working practices that last.
Lived experience
My own path through serious illness and back into professional life has shaped how I understand resilience, identity and adaptability. It informs my empathy; my training informs my practice.
My story
Resilience, Reimagined.
In 2020, I developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a serious chronic pain condition. Almost overnight, the life I had planned was put on hold. At its most severe, I spent over a year using a wheelchair, with real uncertainty about my health and my future as a performer.
The road back was long. Over time, I returned to professional performance, began advanced postgraduate training in London and continued building my own work.
That experience changed my understanding of resilience. I no longer see it as simply enduring, or forcing my way through. I see it as the capacity to adapt, to listen to what is needed, and to rebuild a life and identity with intention.
It also sparked a deep interest in how the nervous system, stress, behaviour and recovery shape our ability to navigate difficult circumstances. That curiosity led me to train formally as a Nervous System Regulation Practitioner.
My own story is part of why I do this work and how I hold space for others. My coaching, though, is grounded in my practitioner training, and every client's path is their own.
Training & credentials
Qualifications & training.
My practice is grounded in formal practitioner training, complemented by continuing professional development in coaching and evidence-informed approaches.
